Overview and scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Digital Empire Builder (DEB), an internal, pre-revenue development project, handles data in connection with its read-only YouTube-related research feature.
Current state
As of this revision, DEB has not executed the controlled YouTube Data API sensor. This Privacy Policy describes the planned, intended integration; it does not claim that the integration is currently active or that any real YouTube data has yet been retrieved.
Use of YouTube API Services (planned)
DEB is designed to use the official YouTube Data API (a YouTube API Service) for its YouTube-related research feature. If and when the controlled integration is authorized and executed, use of this feature will be subject to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
Categories of public YouTube data
Only public video, channel, and search metadata is in scope — for example public video/channel identifiers, titles, descriptions, publish timestamps, and public statistics. No private, authenticated, or account-specific data is in scope.
Purpose of processing
Public YouTube data is intended for use solely for internal research into business opportunity signals. DEB-derived metrics may be calculated from this public data for the same internal research purpose.
No OAuth or private-user data in the initial scope
The initial scope of this planned feature does not use OAuth and does not request, store, or process any private or authenticated YouTube user data.
No commenter or viewer profiling
DEB does not collect YouTube comments, commenter identities, or viewer identities, and does not build profiles of any individual person.
Retention, refresh, and deletion
For Non-Authorized Data (public, non-authorized YouTube data), the applicable rule is precise and conservative: such data is refreshed via the API or deleted no later than the applicable 30-calendar-day window. DEB has not obtained approval for any additional analytics/derived-metrics policy, and no extended retention period (for example, any 36-month-style retention sometimes associated with an approved additional policy) is currently active or claimed.
Public statistics
Where used, public statistics (such as public view counts) will be treated as YouTube-provided data, subject to the same 30-calendar-day refresh/delete rule described above.
DEB-derived metrics
Metrics that DEB itself calculates from public YouTube data are clearly labelled as DEB-derived metrics and are never presented as though YouTube supplied them directly.
Distinction between YouTube-provided and DEB-derived data
Every data point displayed anywhere in this application is labelled as exactly one of "YouTube-provided data" or "DEB-derived metric"; the two are never blended into a single unlabeled value.
Google Privacy Policy
Use of YouTube API Services is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Applicable YouTube API / YouTube Terms
This feature will operate subject to Google's and YouTube's own applicable developer policies and terms in addition to this Privacy Policy.
Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy may be directed to the DEB project owner at joaoriolima@gmail.com. This is a project/developer contact, not a general support line.
Policy updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated as DEB's actual implementation changes. Material changes will be reflected in a new, checksummed revision of this page.
No sale of personal YouTube user data
DEB does not sell, rent, or otherwise commercially transfer any personal YouTube user data. DEB's initial scope does not collect personal YouTube user data in the first place.
